First announced in 2014, the Victorian Government invested $33 million into the northern suburbs of Geelong to provide a state-of-the-art health facility to meet the growing needs of the community.
After extensive planning and consultation, Barwon Health North officially opened on 28 January 2020. Stage one of the opening included an urgent care centre, renal dialysis services, audiology services and medical imaging.
Barwon Health North is co-located with the City of Greater Geelong's Waterworld facility and Centenary Hall.
The Corio Community Health Centre located on Gellibrand Street, which is also run by Barwon Health, continues to operate and complements the range of services available at Barwon Health North.
